Abstract
This unpublished document was presented at a Department of Education (NI) policy sub-group meeting in September 2024. The paper presents some of the issues and dilemmas in understanding and articulating the purpose of youth work. The discussion paper enabled those present to reflect on their perspectives and understanding of youth works purpose and the processes by which it engages.
