Abstract
This commissioned chapter looks at the work of Mainie Jellett and Evie Hone in France and Ireland from c.1920 to 1944 looking in detail at their abstract painting and commitment to the decorative arts. It reconsiders their work in different media across fine and applied art and contextualises their wider interest in design.
