N2 - In February 2017, safefood commissioned University College Dublin, in conjunction with its collaboration partners at Ulster University, The Open University and Dublin Institute of Technology, to conduct a research project to understand treat food behaviours among adults who care for children on the island of Ireland.The aim of this research was to map out why adults provide treat foods to children on the island of Ireland. This report provides an overview of the main findings and also presents recommendations as to how positive treat food-giving behaviours can be promoted.
