Abstract
The purpose of this Policy is to ensure Open Access of Ulster University research outputs. Making research outputs immediately Open Access has many benefits. When publishing journal articles, Researchers often assign copyright to publishers via a copyright transfer agreement, resulting in access to the articles being controlled by publishers.
This Policy enables Researchers to retain ownership rights to their publications and more easily comply with funder Open Access requirements, including the Open Access requirement for REF2029. The Policy encourages wide and immediate dissemination of research whilst allowing Researchers to publish their work in a journal of their choice.
