Abstract
Examines the apparent clash between 'authenticity' or 'realism' that documentary has claim to and the association of the imagination and experimentation with art, particularly with contemporary art. Based on a conference at Whitechapel, London, this edited collection offers a range of practitioners' and theorists' views on the overlaps and tensions between these disciplines.
