Abstract

This paper entitled " 'Toward Still Greater Simplicity" looked at Evie Hone's work for Clongowes Wood College SJ in the 1940s and after. The paper was given at a symposium organised to celebrate the outstanding collection of An Túr Gloine stained glass windows in the Boys’ Chapel - under the auspices of Culture Night 2024. A panel in the Chapel consisted of 3 academic papers by Dr Róisín Kennedy (UCD), Dr David Caron (art historian), and Dr Joseph McBrinn (Belfast School of Art), and this was followed by an interview by Caron and McBrinn with Margaret Becker (print maker & stained glass artist). The event was convened by Fr Rector Michael Sheil S.J. (CWC).
