Tomás Ó Fiaich and south east Ulster Irish

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Ó Fiaich drew upon his expertise in south-east Ulster Irish, and in particular the works of the Oriel poets, to shine a light on seldom documented and often ignored lives of normal people in eighteenth-century Oriel. This article explores this and illustrates how Ó Fiaich has created a clear picture of a social history not previously explored or highlighted.
