Abstract

I reflect on the act of responding and its relation to the nature of encounter, the premise of which underlies the interdisciplinary project that resulted in the publication of the book, "Clinical Encounters in Sexuality: Psychoanalytic Practice and Queer Theory", edited by Eve Watson and myself. I consider, more specifically, the potential use of an object within the context of psychoanalytic discussions around object usage.
