Abstract

April 2023 marked 25 years since the Belfast Good Friday Agreement that brought peace to these islands. But the legacy of violence has left scars. Twenty-five years after the Agreement, we are reminded that peace and reconciliation require ongoing action and a dynamic vision of peace relevant to today.
This Call to Action is the outcome of “The Peace Summit 2023”. The Peace Summit is an initiative by the John and Pat Hume Foundation and Community Dialogue in partnership with YouthAction NI, Holywell Trust, Ulster University, Integrated Education Fund, and the Glencree Centre for Peace & Reconciliation.
It was funded by the International Fund for Ireland, with the support of the Department for Foreign Affairs and in-kind support from Ulster University.

This report gathers the voices from a series of 30 engagement events were held with over 700 young people, peacebuilding practitioners, community groups and ordinary citizens from across Northern Ireland/the North of Ireland and the border
counties between October 2022-May 2023.
