Abstract
The proliferation of place-names associated with Derry (Doire Calgach, Doire Colmcille, Derry and Londonderry) speaks to the citys antiquity and its crucial role in Irish carthography, dinnsheanchas, topographical, loco-descriptive literature. In this booklet, Niall Comer discusses the townland names of the Citys Parishes of Templemore and Clondermot, which have both survived and been defined by successive settlements, invasions, conquests, reconquests, plantations which have defined the region
