Abstract

A review of various aspects of electrode-electrolyte interface impedance is presented. The effect of electrode topography on the form and magnitude of the interface impedance is discussed. The work of Schwan and his colleagues on the non-linearity of the interface impedance is presented and interpreted. The electrical properties of silver-silver chloride electrodes (much used in a wide range of biomedical applications) are also briefly
