'The Impact of AS and A-Level Moving Image Arts on the Creative Industries in Northern Ireland': A report commissioned by Northern Ireland Screen

Abstract

A comprehensive report into the impact AS and A-Level subject Moving Image Arts is having on the Creative Industries in Northern Ireland. Moving Image Arts in Northern Irish schools is a subject currently unique in Europe and has been identified as an exemplary model of film and screen-based education in a recent pan European BFI study. Commissioned by Northern Ireland Screen this study explores the resonance of this A-level subject has on the route to industry and choices made by individuals having studied this as school as they progress to careers in the Creative Industries in Northern Ireland. This study's main reccomendation was to establish a longitduinal cohort study tracjing pupils from schools into the creative indsutries to create a unique dataset that will influence educational policy for the next 10 years in Northern Ireland re digital media literacy.
