Abstract
This series explores the relationship between contemporary photography and the traditional modes of pictorial representation of painting. In these works photography has been used to document large-scale portrait paintings, which sit uncomfortably in run-down and incongruous surroundings. Details: Series of two works, ‘The Grand & The Mean I, II’ (1998), 122 cm x 152 cm, colour c.type photographic prints. Edition of three.
