Abstract

This dual format event will explore barriers to discussing obesity reduction. Participators will have the opportunity to complete the Implicit Association Test (IAT) online identifying personal implicit obesity bias which they may be unaware they hold. Secondly a piece of performance art by AftaThought Training Consultancy who apply drama techniques to optimise engagement through connecting minds and hearts to affect positive change will portray potential barriers to discussing the presence of obesity in a clinical consultation. There will be audience participation to explore the potential impact and possible resolution of such barriers. The aim of this experiential learning event is to enhance the potential of patients and clinicians discussing obesity.
