Tecosca Cormaic and fíanaigecht tradition

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

This essay focuses on the sections of Tecosca Cormaic, an Old Irish wisdom text, which describe the time when Cormac was a gilla ‘a youth of an age to bear arms’. These sections provide evidence that, in early Irish society, a future king normally spent time among the members of a fían.
