Commissioned essay for the publication GO FIELD AND TOWERS by Guillaume Othenin-Girard and Nigel Peak. A series of essays contribute to the collected works and reflections on their design studio in EPFL Lausanne between 2012-2014.Text explores readings of how knowledge and information is gathered and assembled into various forms: through the codifications and taxonomies of the enlightenment, a symbolic reading of the history of the mirror as narrative and the episodic structures of the cinema of Andrey Tarkovsky in his film mirror.
