Abstract
This paper examines a range of factors pertaining to research in microteaching. It evaluates research on the effectiveness of the technique per se, and on particular components therein. It also highlights some problematic dimensions faced by researchers in this field. The paper then analyses the conceptual underpinning for microteaching and discusses related theoretical perspectives.
