    Abstract

Paper back edition of edited book originally published in December 2002. 2013 edition has a new preface and cover and is part of Palgrave Macmillan's Cold War History Series. It was the first systematic examination of the role of religion in the cold war. It added a whole new dimension to the cumulative process of cold war scholarship, showing why religion is a key cold war variable, providing new perspectives and crucial insights into the ubiquitous, multi-dimensional conflict that dominated the latter half of the twentieth century.
