Abstract
The initial phase of Craigavon Borough Council’s delivery of the Re-Imaging Communities Programme was to commission three artists to undertake research within Portadown, Brownlow and Lurgan. The rationale for this approach was to expose communities to new approaches and possibilities when addressing issues within their communities. The author was commissioned to undertake a period of research within the Portadown area. The report concludes that the effective implementation of this programme be sustained, engaging, relevant and focus on a shared future within communities and their role within the wider society of Northern Ireland.
