Abstract
This book contains the proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Information and Communi- cation Technologies for Ageing Well and e-Health. This year, ICT4AWE is held in Porto, Portugal, on April 6-8, 2025. It was sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC). ICT4AWE 2025 was also organized in cooperation with the ACM Special Interest Group on Accessible Computing, the International Society for Telemedicine & eHealth, the Inter- national Federation on Ageing, the Porto4Ageing, the Iberian Society of Telemedicine and Telehealth and the Japanese Telemedicine and Telecare Association. The International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies for Ageing Well and e- Health (ICT4AWE) aims to be a meeting point for those that study age and health-related quality of life and apply information and communication technologies for helping people stay healthier, more independent and active at work or in their community. ICT4AWE facilitates the exchange of information and dissemination of best practices, innovation and technical improvements in the fields of age and health care, education, psychology, social coordination and ambient assisted living. From e-Health to AI-infused systems, and ICT devices, the conference is a vibrant discussion and collaboration platform for all those that work in research and development and in companies involved in promoting the quality of life and well-being of people, by providing room for research and industrial presentations, demos and project descriptions. ICT4AWE 2025 received 62 paper submissions from 22 countries, of which 31% were accepted and pub- lished as full papers. A double-blind paper review was performed for each submission by at least 2, but usually 3 or more, members of the International Program Committee, which is composed of established researchers and domain experts. The high quality of the ICT4AWE 2025 program is enhanced by the keynote lecture delivered by distin- guished speakers who are renowned experts in their fields: Joseph Firth (The University of Manchester, United Kingdom), Josh Firth (Oxford University, United Kingdom) and Luca Palmerini (University of Bologna, Italy). The conference is complemented by a Special Session on Innovative Strategies to Enhance Older Adults’ Well-being and Social Connections, chaired by Ana Carla Migueis Amaro, Gabriel Martins Faria, Telmo Silva and Jorge Abreu. All presented papers will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library and will be submitted for eval- uation for indexing by SCOPUS, Google Scholar, The DBLP Computer Science Bibliography, Semantic Scholar, Engineering Index and Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index. Several awards, based on the combined marks of paper reviewing, as assessed by the Program Committee, and the quality of the presentation, as assessed by session chairs at the conference venue, are conferred at the conference’s closing session as recognition for the best contributions. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit extended versions for inclusion in a forthcoming book of ICT4AWE Selected Papers to be published by Springer, as part of the CCIS Series. The program for this conference required the dedicated effort of many people. Firstly, we must thank the authors, whose research efforts are reported here. Next, we thank the members of the Program Committee and the auxiliary reviewers for their diligent and professional reviewing. We would also like to deeply thank the invited speakers for their invaluable contribution and for taking the time to prepare their talks. Finally, a word of appreciation for the hard work of the INSTICC team; organizing a conference of this level is a task that can only be achieved by the collaborative effort of a dedicated and highly competent team. We wish you all an exciting and inspiring conference. We hope to have contributed to the development of our research community, and we look forward to having additional research results presented at the next edition of ICT4AWE, details of which are available at https://ict4awe.scitevents.org.
