Abstract

The purpose of this research study was to conduct a representative survey of the parents of children with a statement of SEN, and to ascertain their views on a number of issues, including exploration of parents’ experience of the statutory assessment procedure; whether, in the parents’ view the process met their child’s needs; analysis if provision met parental expectation; parents’ attitudes to inclusion in mainstream schooling;and any other relevant issues.
