Abstract

OYM is and 18-month international exchange between two established groups of textile practitioners; from Ireland and Sweden. Connecting through their shared heritage, Print Block Dublin (Patricia Belford an honorary member) and Konstnarenas Kollektiv Verkstad, Textil, Malmo, embarked on a joint exploration of the techniques and values associated with the production, processing and uses of linen, a rich history common to both countries, but now almost extinct.Exchange through participated workshops at R Space Gallery and Ulster University provided the practical platform for dialogue and making.
