Abstract

Solo Exhibition at The National Science and Media Museum, Bradford which featured a new series of Donovan Wylie’s photographs, made while embedded with Canadian forces in Afghanistan. This work, Outposts, continued his interrogation of the architecture of conflict, examining ideas of vision, power and impermanence in the context of historical and political themes.

Commissioned originally by the National Media Museum in association with the Imperial War Museum, this research investigates how British military basing patterns that were utilized, and architecturally designed specifically for the Northern Ireland conflict became the forerunner for modern international warfare.
