Abstract

In this paper, we report the potential use of airborne viruses as nano transmitters of mechanical and microwave signatures. Specifically, we treat the virion (virus particle) as a thin core-shell spherical structure with mechanical and electrical properties assigned and use Comsol Multiphysics to determine the mechanical natural modes of vibration. We then approximate how these may be used for the purpose of generating electromagnetic radiation, effectively making the virion behave as nano radio transmitter in the microwave band.
