Abstract

The article explores a specific aspect of European political thinking, mainly focusing on the concept of righteousness and what it owed to the political thought and ethical teaching propagated in Greek, Indian, early medieval European, and Irish written documents. Linking these traditions, distant in time and space, the semiotic method-ology of intertextual typology has been applied, tracing the development of the con-cept of righteousness as the key ideologeme around which the fabric of the treatises of a political nature were crystallised through distant cultures and different epochs.
