Abstract

This symposium will allow researchers to discuss methods, approaches and ethical considerations of researching business failure. Business failure is an important yet traditionally under researched topic in entrepreneurship. It is difficult to conduct studies on business failure due to challenges identifying and contacting entrepreneurs once their business closes as well as an unwillingness of entrepreneurs to discuss personal and stigmatising details. Recent studies see researchers adopting innovative methodological approaches to overcome these challenges. Through an interactive panel discussion, followed by the innovative Delphi approach, this symposium will discuss future challenges, opportunities, and ethical considerations for research in business failure. business failure. business
