Abstract
This research quantifies the potential of the digital creative industries in Northern Ireland. It analyses the sector's global growth potential and policy in Singapore, Republic of Ireland, Canada, Denmark and Dubai. It reviews policy in Northern Ireland for skills, infrastructure, financing, innovation and internationalisation in the sector. It suggests how best practices from the countries above and from the findings of research conducted by the Centre for Media Research could be used in Northern Ireland to help the sector "leap frog" competitor countries into the next generation of creative digital production. It suggests a targeted approach to niche global emerging areas of the digital creative industry. The findings were used by the Arts, Culture and Leisure committee of the Northern Ireland parliament to inform its review of creative industries policy in 2012/13.
