Abstract
Peer reviewed academic paper for Cross, Multi, Inter, Trans, ASLE UK & Ireland with LAND2. This paper examined ideas of space and place making within my own hybrid print and paint practice and that of Irish American painter Helen O’Leary. I investigated the various ways in which painting and printmaking act as critical tools for unravelling ideas around space, place and gender in relation to the Irish landscape. This conference paper formed part of wider research - practice and theoretical - into the expanded space of paint / print practices and ideas around gender and (the Irish) landscape.
