Abstract
Viruses use many diverse strategies to evade detection by the host's immune system and stimulate viral replication. Viral promoters may enlist transcription factors that are upregulated during an immune response to aid viral gene expression. In this study we describe a novel method of addressing the possibility of viral mimicry of host promoters. By pooling approximately 30 years of previous research to identify functional regions in viral and host immune-specific promoters we have assembled unambiguous interaction maps of both host and viral enhanceosome formation using the Systems Biology Graphical Notation scheme.
