Abstract
In the popular imagination the terms ‘punk’ and ‘religion’ do not sit easily together. The notion of pious punk seems as oxymoronic as glue-sniffing nuns. Alas, this journal issue cannot comment on the glue-sniffing nuns, but the pious punks – whether evangelical Christian, culturally Christian, Buddhist or Muslim – are an actually existing entity.
