Abstract

In this paper we discuss the design and development of an innovative web-based Remote Management System (RMS) service platform that facilitates the remote monitoring and management of fuel oil levels in tanks on behalf of oil companies and their customers. The paper examines the underlying technological innovations that support the service solution and introduces the innovation mechanism that made this work possible, the FUSION programme. The paper describes the main technological innovation in the project before summarising the business benefits to the industry.
