Abstract

Education in Northern Ireland has been the focus of many articles, many papers and much discussion over many, many years. Most of these have highlighted the various failings of a system that, notwithstanding the commitment and professionalism of those who work within it, is not working as well as it could be. Much research has illustrated the ways in which it contributes to a costly pattern of socioeconomic and community division that feeds societal instability.
