Abstract

The animated piece was designed and created to capture the imagination of children attending the Halloween festival in Buncrana. It was designed and created using the 3d animation software 3ds Max. The name Beeble Bob was given to the character and he became the mascot for the town's Halloween festival in 2008. It was animated to introduce the audience to the stage event and also to interact with the creator at varying points in the performance. The compère for the event was the creator and he would talk to Beeble Bob who was being projected on to a screen at the back of the open air stage. At the end of the sequence Beeble Bob then introduced the band and danced to one of their songs. Eventually the projection faded away and the band were left to continue the show without interruption.
