Abstract
Group exhibition focused on contemporary abstract painting, exploring material process and painterly language including artists; Yasmine Robinson, Betsy Bradley, Sarah Wren Wilson. Presented at Katie Lindsay Gallery as part of an ongoing exhibition programme examining abstraction.
In the group exhibition Gotten: “The gotten reason why we make art, these modulations of colour, come from the ‘other’ place” (2024), Yasmine Robinson presents a body of abstract paintings that form part of her ongoing research into intuition, materiality and embodied modes of making. Robinson has four paintings included in the exhibition: 'Soap Dish', 'Gortin', 'Berol I' and 'Apeldoorn'.
This research aims to investigate how abstract painting can operate as a form of embodied, intuitive knowledge, where meaning emerges through material process.
