Abstract

This is the second edition of these guidelines developed by Sally Bates, Jill Titterington and the UK and Ireland's Child Speech Disorder Research Network. They aim to provide an evidence-based point of reference and support for speech and language therapists working with children who have speech sound disorder. The guidelines focus on the analysis of speech in order to inform effective diagnosis of speech sound disorder and selection of targets and interventions which will optimize efficiency and effectiveness of therapy. The analysis checklist in the appendices may be used to support NQP, peer review and/or those working with children who have severe speech sound disorder.
