Abstract

This volume contains the edited proceedings of the nineteenthInternational Conference on Software Process ImprovementResearch, Education and Training, INSPIRE 2014 held atSouthampton Selent University, organised by the QualitySpecialist Group of the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.The objective of this conference is to promote internationalco-operation among those concerned with process improvementby creating a greater understanding of process improvementissues, and by sharing current research through academic andindustrial experience. The conference organisers feel that thisobjective has been achieved. INSPIRE 2014 has attractedpapers from international sources, covering a broad spectrumof practical experience and research. The topic areas includequality enhancement in Higher Education, formal and informallearning, on-line education, MOOCs and social media skills foremployability.We would like to thank the many people who have brought thisnineteenth international conference into being: the OrganisingCommittee, the International Advisory Committee, particularlyfor all their hard work in reviewing both the abstracts and thefinal papers, and the committee members of the BCS's QualitySpecialist Group.The organisers would like to thank Southampton SelentUniversity and London South Bank University for theirsponsorship.
