Abstract

This page details how Gaussian Splatting, a novel 3D representation technique, is being leveraged on the Northern Ireland High Performance Computing (NI-HPC) facility. As part of the "Future Island-Island – Green Digital Transition for Sustainable Tourism" project, the pipelines incorporating Gaussian Splatting in immersive experiences are being research. The use of NI-HPC ensured a sustainable exploration and testing of Gaussian Splat processing and rendering.
The project aims to create detailed and efficient digital twins of locations and artifacts on Rathlin Island to support sustainable tourism and address climate challenges.
