Abstract

This project helped drive business efficiencies and growth, and new product development success within a company. The project aims were to embed a new product development system, bring extended shelf life beef products to market, and add value to waste bones and meat off-cuts. Evidence of achievement exists in the improved product development procedures, sales of new individual priced primals and peppered beef products, equipment purchased for diced beef products, improved delegation, motivation and communication in production, and sales of category 3 waste bones. The knowledge transferred in product innovation and technology, and meat microbiology has helped to underpin major strategic business objectives towards improved provision of wholesome assured quality beef products of a premium quality and being innovative with new products and methods, whilst building a better team through investment in people and skills.
