Abstract

Until recently the sounds emitted from human joints have been analysed in a purely subjective way by the clinician using the hands and ears as vibration sensors. We describe a non-invasive method of analysing digitally recorded transient "clicks" from human joints using miniature accelerometers and a multi-channel analogue-to-digital convertor in a microcomputer.
