N2 - Rare, erosional turret bedforms are described in a coastal foredune environment. These ephemeral structures are formed as a result of moist columns of sand being sculpted by aeolian action of saltating particles. Mature formation of these features appears to be facilitated by the action of an advancing foredune ridge, first preserving and then isolating the turrets for further enhanced erosion within a dune environment. It is envisaged that these structures may be preserved in dune stratigraphy.
