Figurative Series II

Research output: Other contributionpeer-review

Abstract

These depictions of urban space focus on the compositional and psychological juxtapositions between the urban built environment and the natural elements surrounding it. The work incorporates modernist architecture to explore possible depictions of a psychological space, rather than merely documenting the physical elements of the built environment. The placement of the figure in these photographic images acts as agency for this investigation into the potential for architectural space to affect or embody the mental or emotional state of the figure depicted within it. Details: Series of two works, entitled, ‘Vantage Point’ (2005) diptych, each measuring 122 cm x 152 cm, ‘When’ (2007) diptych, each measuring 122 cm x 152 cm, colour lightjet photographic prints. Edition of three.
