Abstract
This article was commissioned under the banner of my regular column “Fashion Photography” in Source magazine. Even though Polaroid as a company filed for bankruptcy in 2008 the instantaneous polaroid photograph has a long lineage in the history of fashion photography. This article looks at the current revival of interest in polaroids by fashion photographers as well as the work of key photographers such as Helmut Newton and Paolo Roversi long known for their interest in polaroid as a unique medium.
