Abstract

This chapter explores housing precarity through the lens of ‘double energy vulnerability’ (DEV) – a concept that links energy and transport hardship in and around the home. Using United Kingdom (UK)-wide survey data and multivariate modelling, we examine socio-demographic and spatial factors shaping inequalities. A typology of vulnerability pathways informs policy recommendations, aiming to both enrich and challenge existing knowledge on energy and transport deprivation.
