Elaborate Constructions Engineered on a Massive Scale in Order to Create the Proper Images

Research output: Other contributionpeer-review

Abstract

This work documents a church during a period of re-ordering. The usual formality of religious worship is disrupted. Life size statues, usually mounted on pedestals, sit on the ground forming small informal groups. The displacement of the statues makes them take on a human presence, appearing almost animated. Details: Series of four works, ‘Elaborate Constructions Engineered on a Massive Scale In Order to Create the Proper Images I, II, III, IV’ (1997) 61 cm x 76 cm, duratrans on lightboxes. Edition of three.
