Abstract
Sketchday+ held at The Glasgow School of Art which was an event to explore the role of drawing across the different disciplines of anthropology, fine art and architecture. It also connected to an exhibition and publication of sketchbooks by two professors of architecture. How is drawing discussed and evaluated? What relationship does it hold within the practices of different disciplines? The talk explored specific readings of drawings as 'embedded time' and compared the relationship of drawing to that of practices in cinema and film-making and how film could be considered as an iteragative methodology for exploring research into drawing practices in architecture. The lecture was followed by a screening of the documentary film 'Drawing on Life'.
