Abstract

Injection moulding (IM) is a widely used method in the plastic industry, but is novel as the pharmaceutical technology, particularly in respect of producing oral dosage forms. IM can be utilised as a manufacturing technique for production of sustained release and, in some limited form, immediate release tablets. To assess the feasibility of manufacturing acetaminophen immediate release tablets using IM. IM tablets were produced and characterised with respect to their content uniformity, weight uniformity, disintegration and drug release performance
