Abstract

Solo Exhibition.Galerie Carla Koch, Amsterdam, NL 2009 work prepared during residency at the International Ceramics Research Centre, Denmark 2009, titled 'Danish Series 1-5'.Drawing on costal landscapes and the built environment these pieces were developed in 2009.Danish Series 1-5 were presented in Galerie Carla Koch Nov. 2009. (www.carlakoch.com)Danish Series no.5 was acquired to the permanent collection of the Office of Public Works of Dublin City Council and is housed in the Farmeligh Estate in Phoenix Park, Dublin.The exhibition at Galerie Carla Koch was reviewed in Ceramics Monthly (USA) Feb. 2010, vol58 issue 2. Danish Series 1 was selected for the Craft and Design Collective exhibtion 'Slow Burn' exhibition curated by Gail Mahon and Jan Irwin, 2010. Danish Series 1-2 were included in the 'Pushing the Boundaries: Contemporary Ceramic Sculpture' at the Cill Rilliag Arts Centre, Co. Kerry, Ireland, in 2011. Danish Series 3 and 4 were selected for curated exhibition 'Transform' funded by the Crafts Council of Ireland, for exhibition at the Millennium Court Arts Centre, N.Ireland, and the Farmleigh Gallery, Dublin, and the Limerick School of Art Gallery, 2011-12. this exhibition was commissioned to coincide with the World Crafts Council General Assembly in Dublin in June 2011 and the Craft Northern Ireland 'Craft Month' (August) 2011.The body of research began in Denmark, and travelled through the Netherlands to conclude in Ireland and the UK.Reviewed by Peter Beard in Ceramics Ireland, 2010 ISSN 1393-9513Received Crafts Council of Ireland Research Mission Award
