Abstract

In a recording career that lasted over 40 years, Dan Pawson’s recorded output was very large. In addition to releases on New Orleans Anthology, La Croix, Rampart Records, NoLa Records, All That Jazz, Eustachius, MEK, Festa New Orleans Music, GHB Records, Marlstone Recordings, P.E.K Sound, Raymer Sound, Music Mecca, 504/La Croix and Dine-A-Mite/La Croix, Dan appeared on over 150 different unissued tape, CD and DVD recordings. We have been fortunate to have had access to Dan Pawson's own files to piece together his recorded work, and to confirm that all of the recordings shown here still exist. Dan had a large cassette collection which he meticulously itemised in four index books and these were made available to us by his son, Spencer. This material was to form the basis of the Dan Pawson Discography compiled by Raymond Lee and published in 2000 (Zwolle, Netherlands: Gerard Bielderman). Since then, however, a large amount of information and additional material has come to light which prompted us to produce a new listing. It is our hope that readers will correct any errors or ambiguities and hopefully provide further material for inclusion. Any comments, corrections, etc. should be forwarded to lacroixrecords@gmail. com.
