title = "Cultural factors influencing disputes in public construction",
abstract = "Although dispute in construction industry has been widely discussed in literature worldwide, few studies have examined the specific nature of the relationship between disputes and cultural factors. This paper presents a study of the influence of cultural factors on disputes in public construction. An exhaustive review of literature is undertaken to identify the effects of organisational culture and leadership in avoiding or minimizing disputes in construction organisations. A proposal is presented for further research based on data collected from governmental agencies and contractors in order to introduce a framework to deal with cultural issues affecting disputes.",
