Abstract
PRESSURE ULCERS have become a ‘buzz topic’ in the NHS over recent years. The primary focus for nurses in this area of practice is on keeping pressure ulcer incidence (PUI) rates low. This is often seen as an indication of good quality nursing care, but does this mean that a consistently high PUI rate represents poor nursing care that fails patients?
